The exclusive Peace Light circuit board has been designed to charge during sunlight hours, begin glowing at dusk, and turn off at dawn. The solar collector on the front of the unit is the electronic eye that triggers the unit to light. Snow or heavy shade may cause the light to remain on and deplete the battery pack of power until the next charging (Peace Light memorials require direct sunlight outdoors -- in order to fully charge the battery pack).
When mounting Peace Light, it is recommended that the solar panel face south, east, or southeast
Solar panels MUST receive direct sunlight
Direct sunlight energizes battery pack inside, behind solar panel
4 to 5 hours of sunlight needed to fully charge batteries
Avoid having trees or tall monuments block the needed sunlight
It is best that the surface be both clean and dry when installing the Peace Light
Peace Light may be mounted using a granite and clear silicone around the outside edges to completely seal the base to the surface on which it has been attached to prevent any kind of moisture from getting behind the base
Easy access to the solar panel on this unit makes it possible to mount the base by attaching it on the bottom or back (opposite panel) of the Peace Light.
Maintaining Your Peace Light
The Peace Light is designed to last indefinitely
The only maintenance required is the replaceable battery that lasts 3-5 years
These batteries are not readily available. We keep these on hand at all times for our customers
We recommend cleaning with water and a drop of a very mild liquid dish detergent
Commercial window cleaning sprays are not recommended
