When mounting Peace Light it is recommended that the solar panel be facing the direction of South, East or SouthEast.
Solar Panel MUST receive direct sunlight.
Direct sunlight is necessary to energize the battery pack inside, behind the solar panel. It will take at least 4 to 5 hours of sunlight to fully charge the batteries. It is important that objects such as trees, tall monuments etc. not interfere or block the sunlight fro...
The exclusive Peace Light circuit board has been designed to charge during sunlight hours, begin glowing at dusk, and turn off at dawn. The solar collector on the front of the unit is the electronic eye that triggers the unit to light. Snow or heavily shaded areas will cause the light to remain on. This will deplete the Peace Light battery pack of power (Peace Light memorials require direct sunlight outdoors -- in order to fully charge the battery pack)
A full day of bright sunlight will charge the Peace Light's battery pack. The solar panel will charge even on a cloudy day, however, the lighting time will not be as long. Battery accessiblity is through the solar panel. The original battery pack shipped with the Peace Light will last an average of 3 to 5 years and is not available in stores. Peace Light icons are made from a UV-inhibited acrylic that has been proven to withstand weathering effects indefinitely. Each icon is fasted to the base with a zinc-plated light stem secured from within the unit and siliconed to ensure a lifetime fit.
